Job summary

Axxion Search is recruiting a Continuous Improvement Lead for a large food manufacturing operation in the Somerset / Lockyer Valley region, about an hour west of Brisbane. This hands-on, site-based role focuses on boosting operational performance across Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence or process improvement.
• Food, FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience is preferred.
• A practical understanding of Lean principles and structured problem-solving.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority.
• Hands-on approach with CI experience on the shop floor.
• Production supervision with CI exposure is attractive.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, cost and process efficiency.
• Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Coach frontline teams and leaders in structured problem-solving.
• Apply RCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone and corrective action methodologies.
• Support 5S, Gemba and visual management processes.
• Analyse operational performance and identify recurring issues.
• Lead and support improvement projects from identification through implementation.
• Collaborate across Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Reduce waste and improve process flow.
• Develop practical standards, processes and improvement routines.
• Track the effectiveness of implemented improvements.

Axxion Search is recruiting a Continuous Improvement Lead for a large food manufacturing operation in the Somerset / Lockyer Valley region, approximately one hour west of Brisbane.

This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on improving operational performance across Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain. You will work closely with frontline teams and site leadership to identify inefficiencies, solve recurring problems and embed practical continuous improvement processes across the operation.

The role would suit someone who is comfortable spending time on the floor, working directly with frontline leaders and operators, and turning improvement opportunities into practical, measurable outcomes.

The role

You will be involved in:

• Driving and supporting Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across site
• Coaching frontline teams and leaders in structured problem-solving
• Using tools such as RCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone and corrective action methodologies
• Supporting 5S, Gemba and visual management processes
• Analysing operational performance and identifying recurring issues
• Leading and supporting improvement projects from identification through to implementation
• Working across Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain
• Reducing waste and improving process flow

About you

You will ideally bring:

• Experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence or process improvement
• Food, FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience

• Confidence working directly with production teams and frontline leadership
• The ability to influence stakeholders without relying on formal authority
• A hands-on approach rather than purely theoretical CI experience
• A background that combines production supervision with continuous improvement exposure would also be attractive.
