Job summary

RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Scientist – Contaminated Land to join our Oceans & Environment team in Perth. This is an early-career role offering development in contaminated land, environmental site assessments and related areas.

You will work with experienced professionals on projects involving investigation, assessment and management of contaminated sites, with opportunities to build field, data interpretation and reporting capabilities and progress to manage smaller projects.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years relevant experience.
• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry or another relevant discipline.
• Experience in contaminated land, environmental consulting, site investigation or related field.
• Experience undertaking environmental fieldwork, site investigations or sampling.
• Understanding of contaminated land assessment principles and environmental data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good technical report writing skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking contaminated land and environmental site investigations.
• Planning and participating in fieldwork, site inspections and environmental sampling programs.
• Collecting, managing, analysing and interpreting environmental data.
• Supporting preliminary and detailed site investigations.
• Contributing to the assessment of contamination and environmental risks.
