Job summary

ING Australia is seeking a Consumer Communications Expert Lead on a 12-month fixed-term contract to steer consumer communications across owned and earned media. You will shape storytelling, build strong media relations, and guide senior leaders on strategic communications across a major banking brand.

You will lead a team, collaborate with Brand and Marketing, manage agencies and partners, and ensure readiness for crisis communications while delivering campaigns that support business and product

Qualifications

• Significant experience in public relations, media relations, journalism or brand communications.
• Strong awareness of social influencer and creator networks.
• Proven success leading earned media, social media and integrated communications programs.
• Knowledge of Australia's media landscape and social media ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead ING's consumer media relations strategy and day-to-day press office activity.
• Develop and execute proactive communications campaigns that support business, brand and product objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, producers, influencers and content creators.
• Identify newsworthy opportunities and transform them into impactful media stories.
• Lead social media and influencer engagement strategies in partnership with Brand and Marketing teams.
• Support major campaigns, product launches, sponsorships and customer initiatives through integrated communications planning.
• Provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
• Coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
