Job summary

Fujitsu Australia is seeking an experienced Consulting Manager to lead the delivery of managed services and build a high-performing team in Canberra. You will oversee day-to-day consulting and engineering resources, ensure contractual commitments are met, and foster strong client relationships to drive service excellence.

You will partner with delivery, operations and account teams to optimise resources, identify growth opportunities, and manage budgets and reporting to senior leadership.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consulting Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective managed services while developing and supporting a high-performing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of consulting and engineering resources, ensuring contractual commitments are delivered to the highest standards, fostering strong client relationships, and driving operational excellence. As a key point of contact for assigned clients, you will work closely with delivery, engineering, operations, and account teams to enhance service outcomes, optimise resource utilisation, and identify opportunities for business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Client Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned service-based engagements.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of support and consulting services in accordance with contracted terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivery teams, contractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and field services groups.
  • Support the transition of projects from delivery teams into ongoing operational support environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure services align with best practice standards for quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and manage team members across multiple client accounts.
  • Conduct performance management, development planning, and skills enhancement activities in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Allocate resources across client engagements to ensure optimal service delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and service delivery strategies alongside senior leadership.
  • Manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and approve costs in accordance with Fujitsu delegation frameworks.
  • Prepare regular performance reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and recommendations.
Business Development
  • Partner with Account Executives to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Support the pursuit of new business opportunities and contribute to account expansion activities.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including performance management, mentoring, and team development.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery management within ongoing customer engagements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Understanding of project governance, operational processes and service management principles.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience within managed services, consulting, systems integration, or technology services environments.
  • Exposure to government or highly regulated customer environments.
  • Experience supporting account growth and identifying new business opportunities.
Qualifications & Security Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or currently working towards completion.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a people management role or managing delivery teams supporting ongoing service-based engagements.
  • AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (minimum requirement).
Highly Desirable
  • AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance.
