Job summary

FGI Developments is seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to join our team in Cairns, QLD. The role focuses on safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce on construction sites and improving safety culture across operations.

Responsibilities include developing and monitoring HSE policies, conducting site inspections, delivering inductions and training, investigating incidents and maintaining documentation to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a WHSE Officer or similar in construction.
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across all states of Australia.
• Be prepared to undertake a Federal Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor health, safety and environmental policies and management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and risks.
• Provide safety inductions, training and ongoing support to site personnel.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed records to support continuous safety performance improvements.
• Collaborate with project managers and workers to foster a positive safety culture.
• Represent the company at safety meetings, forums and industry events.
