Job summary

Government client (agency undisclosed) is seeking a Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental (WHS&E) Advisor to support the implementation and monitoring of WHS&E initiatives across operational teams in Queensland.

The role works closely with the Principal Workplace Health & Safety Advisors and WHS Manager to provide expert advice, deliver safety information sessions, assist with incident reporting and investigations, and ensure compliance on departmental and contractor-delivered projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in workplace health and safety within construction, maintenance, infrastructure, or a similar industry.
• Strong understanding of workplace hazards, risk management, and control measures.
• Ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct WHS&E audits and site inspections to ensure compliance across departmental and contractor-delivered projects.
• Provide expert WHS&E advice and guidance to operational, supervisory, and management staff.
• Support the delivery of safety information sessions and training initiatives.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and contractor notifiable incidents.
