Job summary

Wood is seeking a Construction Superintendent for the Surat Basin operations in western Queensland. The role reports to the Construction Manager and focuses on coordinating the construction interface between client, site teams and head office, while championing Wood's HSE standards.

Ideal candidates will have strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead diverse teams on risk-aware projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards and project controls.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and coordinate with clients, site teams and head office.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and controls the construction interface between client, site teams and head office.
  • Champions HSE policies, procedures and behaviours.
  • Conducts daily toolbox talks with site labour at the beginning of each day.
  • Accountable for site planning and resource management including client subcontractors and Wood personnel to ensure safe and timely execution of work.
  • Actively supports recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of Wood resources.
  • Accountable for site progress reporting and identifying opportunities or issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Dealing with site HR/IR related issues to ensure performance and contract delivery.
  • Sets and maintains the quality of drawings as builds, timely certification sign-off and closeout of work packs.
  • Ensure materials, tools and equipment are fit for purpose, checked and certified prior to use.
  • Provide roles and responsibilities guidance to the site team.
  • Construction input into the Project and Engineering Design.
  • Deputising for Contract Manager as required.

Wood is recruiting a dynamic and result-driven Construction Superintendent with strong focus onwork in the Surat Basin of western Queensland, this role reports to the Construction Manager.

  • Dealing with site HR/IR related issues to ensure effective individual and team performance and overall successful contract delivery to the client.
  • Sets and maintains the quality of the drawing as builds, timely certification sign off and close out of work packs

  • Actively input to Construction estimate / CTR’s (in collaboration with the Construction Engineers)
