Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Port Melbourne team, managing New Equipment and Modernisation projects. You will lead installation teams, ensure safety standards, and deliver on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with major builders, consultants and stakeholders, driving high-performance teams across Victoria’s iconic projects while shaping a strong culture of safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Building, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading installation teams and subcontractors.
  • 3–5 years in project management within elevator, escalator, construction, or building services.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NE and MOD projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and budget adherence.
  • Direct installation teams and subcontractors to meet targets.
  • Maintain project programs, attend site meetings, and manage site documentation.
  • Develop strong customer, builder, consultant and internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Plan workforce, allocate resources, mentor field teams, and drive continuous improvement.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our team in Port Melbourne, Victoria.

Reporting to the Senior Construction Operations Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of New Equipment (NE) and Modernisation (MOD) projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work with major builders, consultants, developers, and stakeholders across a diverse portfolio of projects while leading high-performing installation teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer New Equipment and Modernisation projects in line with the Otis Sales Installation Process (SIP).
  • Lead installation teams to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and financial targets.
  • Monitor project programs and ensure site activities are completed according to approved schedules.
  • Attend site meetings and provide leadership to allocated installation labour and subcontractors.
  • Plan workforce requirements and maintain effective resource allocation across projects.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and motivate field teams to build a high-performance culture.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, builders, consultants, government inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance, manage risks, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Ensure all project documentation, contract records, site diaries, timesheets, and safety reports are accurately maintained.
  • Participate in project reviews and provide regular updates to branch and head office management.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A tertiary qualification in Building, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. An Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Hold full Australia working rights and must have a current Australian driver's license.
  • Proven experience leading installation teams, technicians, mechanics, or subcontractors.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' project management experience, ideally within the elevator, escalator, construction, building services, or related industries.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
  • A commitment to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
