Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. Brisbane is seeking a skilled Lift Service Technician to service and repair lifts and escalators in the local portfolio. The role requires five years in the lift industry, Electrical qualification, strong fault-finding, and adherence to safety standards.

You will work with field engineers and service teams, training apprentices and supporting subcontractors while ensuring high customer satisfaction and compliance with relevant codes and EBAs.

Qualifications

  • Electrical license or Cert III in Electrotechnology is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience within the Lift Industry.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem‑solving skills are essential.
  • Good English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate knowledge of technology (mobile apps, Word, Excel, Email).
  • Committed to safety and quality in all work activities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs service repairs and minor upgrades per procedures and manuals.
  • Attend lift and escalator breakdowns and perform repairs and control modifications.
  • Standby and provide after‑call‑back coverage as needed.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Support apprentices and subcontractors with electrical and mechanical training.
  • Perform upgrades/repairs per relevant codes (AS1735) and EBAs.
  • Liaise with customers and submit leads using Otis applications.
  • Collaborate with Field Engineers, Service Mechanics, and branch/operations managers.
  • Represent Otis’s relationships with customers, suppliers, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs Service repairs, Maintenance minor upgrade work in accordance with relevant job procedures, technical articles, and operations manuals.
  • Attend lift and escalator breakdowns and perform repairs and control modifications on lifts and escalators, including Re-roping, Hoisting, and Rigging.
  • Stand by and provide after-call-back coverage as needed.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Support apprentices and subcontractors with Electrical and Mechanical training
  • Perform Upgrades and Repair work in accordance with all relevant Codes, including SAA Lift Code AS1735, and in accordance with the relevant Award and /or Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
  • Liaise with customers and submit leads using Otis-provided applications.
  • Works closely with the Field Engineers, other Service Mechanics, and Branch and Operations Managers.
  • Represents the Company's relationships with customers, suppliers, and the public.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • Have an Electrical license or a Cert III in Electrotechnology
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience within the Lift Industry.
  • Extensive Electrical and Mechanical knowledge across large equipment and the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.
  • Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training and demonstrated fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Good English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using technology including mobile communications, applications, and other computer-based systems (Word, Excel, Email, Internet).
  • A committed professional, with safety as priority

  • Curious, adaptable, and able to work well alone or in a team
