Job summary

CAD Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator / Estimator to move from on-site work to estimating, planning and operations coordination. You will take jobs from enquiry through to quotation and delivery planning, establishing budgets, labour allowances, materials and timeframes in partnership with the Operations Supervisor.

The role involves site inspections, preparing scopes, reading plans, obtaining pricing and delivering accurate quotations while monitoring progress

Qualifications

• Experience in building, construction or maintenance industry.
• Strong practical construction knowledge.
• Ability to estimate labour and material requirements.
• Commercially minded and focused on profitability.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Comfortable communicating with clients, trades, suppliers and management.
• Computer literate and willing to learn company systems.
• Long-term career mindset.

Responsibilities

• Attending site inspections and assessing required works.
• Preparing detailed scopes of work.
• Estimating labour, materials, subcontractors and project costs.
• Preparing accurate and competitive quotations.
• Reading plans, specifications and client scopes.
• Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Establishing realistic labour allowances and job timeframes.
• Setting completion dates and project milestones.
• Providing clear job budgets, allowances and delivery expectations.
• Monitoring progress against quotes.
• Following up when jobs are falling behind schedule or outside the quoted allowances.
• Identifying potential cost or timeframe issues early.
• Assisting with variations and additional works.
• Maintaining communication with key clients regarding quotations and future works and timeframes.
• Working with management to improve estimating, job planning and profitability.
• Becoming a key contact for clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
