Job summary

McCosker Contracting Pty Ltd in Cairns region is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Construction Manager to lead delivery of a major civil project on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster. You will oversee construction activities from planning through completion, driving safety, quality, schedule and cost outcomes while partnering with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction management within civil construction, bulk earthworks, or mining.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of schedules, budgets, and resource management.
• Understanding of contract administration and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction activities across the project.
• Develop and implement construction strategies, methodologies, and execution plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary direct team and subcontractors.
• Drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Plan, allocate resources, ensure productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial, and project controls teams.
• Prepare and deliver project reports, forecasts, and construction progress updates.
