Job summary

Schindler Lifts Australia Pty Limited in Victoria seeks a Construction Manager to lead New Installations and Modernisation, reporting to the Regional Manager. You will drive project delivery, manage budgets and forecasts, and lead Project Managers and field teams to deliver safe, on-time projects within budget.

You will build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, apply EBAs and industrial relations knowledge, and coach teams for high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Management, Construction, Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven leadership in lift, construction, HVAC, fire or similar industries.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and project financial management.
• Experience with EBAs, unionised workforces and industrial relations.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead our New Installations and Modernisation operations across Victoria. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will drive operational and financial performance, lead Project Managers and field teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead New Installations and Modernisation operations across Victoria.
• Drive project delivery, financial performance, forecasting and cost control.
• Build strong relationships with customers, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop Project Managers and field teams, including succession and capability development.
• Apply a strong understanding of EBAs, union engagement and industrial relations matters within operational decision-making.
• Drive safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

About You

You are an experienced operational leader with a strong track record in construction delivery, commercial performance, industrial relations and developing high-performing teams.

What You'll Bring

• Degree qualification in Management, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Leadership experience within the lift, construction, HVAC, fire, security, electrical or similar industries.
• Strong commercial capability, including budgeting, forecasting and project financial management.
• Strong experience working with EBAs, EBA negotiations, unionised workforces and industrial relations matters.
• Strong stakeholder, customer and contract negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and build high-performing teams, including succession and capability development.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations frameworks.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer outcomes.

Highly Regarded

• Lift industry experience.
• Experience delivering projects within commercial construction environments.
• Experience leading large operational teams across multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and construction processes.
• Demonstrated success driving operational improvement.
