You will build secure RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and contribute to scalable, high‑impact systems in a fast‑paced Agile environment. You will support CI/CD pipelines, help automate deployments, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver transformation programs while providing occasional frontend assistance

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of API design principles and industry standards.
• Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth and JWT.

$140,000–$160,000 base + super + bonus

Join a major Australian financial‑services organisation and help deliver large‑scale transformation projects within its Cash and Transactional Banking technology team. You’ll work in a fast‑paced Agile environment, developing secure and scalable backend services that support critical banking platforms.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining Java‑based backend applications
• Building secure RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot
• Contributing to technical design and solving complex engineering problems
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
• Collaborating with engineers, business teams and delivery partners
• Contributing to major banking transformation programs
• Providing occasional support across the frontend where required

What we’re looking for

• Commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of API design principles and industry standards
• Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth and JWT
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo and Bitbucket
• Strong analytical, design and problem‑solving capabilities
• Experience working in an Agile engineering environment
• Knowledge of J2EE or Struts would be beneficial
• React experience is advantageous but not essential
