Hydrogen Group is seeking an extremely proficient Lead Java Developer to join our financial services client in Sydney on a 6 month rolling contract to help build their cloud-native platform.

You will lead technical delivery from initial system design through to development and production, while mentoring more junior devs and elevating the team's overall capability and productivity.

Job description

We're currently looking for an extremely proficient, Lead Java Developer to join our financial services client in Sydney on a 6 month, rolling contract to help them build their cloud-native platform.

The role will encompass both hands-on engineering & leadership; you will lead technical delivery from initial system design through to development and production, while mentoring more junior devs and enhancing the team’s overall capability and productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Strong Core Java skills
• Experience developing high-performing APIs in Java/Spring Boot within scaled, cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience on Spring/Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture
• Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
• Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, code review
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform is essential - greenfield environment
