Job summary

Randstad are proud to partner with the Queensland Government's leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services. We have an immediate requirement for an Estimator to start in the Cairns office.

You will apply your technical estimating skills to produce accurate, tender-ready documentation for procurement and develop cost estimates for minor and medium works. You will collaborate with trade staff, supervisors, and managers to ensure projects meet client requirements

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications or significant trade experience (Carpentry or similar).
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and estimation software.
Strong analytical, technical estimating, and verbal/written communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of WHS principles.
Current Open Class C Driver's Licence (Queensland) and willingness to travel across SEQ.
Background in quantity surveying or tender preparation.
Experience in construction programming and procurement processes.
Advanced knowledge of CostX or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver accurate cost estimates and comprehensive scopes of work for construction projects.
Produce tender/pricing-ready documentation and fee proposals for professional services.
Provide detailed pricing for labour, materials, and equipment to assist field staff and project delivery.
Liaise with trade staff, supervisors, and managers to ensure project planning aligns with profitability and client satisfaction.
