Job summary

Synergie Australia is seeking an Estimator for our State Government client located in Cairns to produce tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate estimates.

You will coordinate condition assessments, asbestos sampling, tenancy management, and safety/COMPLIANCE in an office-based role with occasional site visits.

This ASAP start is a 3 month contract with possible extensions, offering a supportive team and Australian work rights.

Qualifications

• Experience providing quotes and estimates for building projects.
• Experience using estimating software such as Cost-X.
• Must have Australian working rights and be a permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate estimates, quotations and project trade packages.
• Coordinate and undertake the delivery of high-quality condition assessment services for clients, including inspections and sampling for asbestos testing.
• Undertake tenancy management and maintenance referrals for Government Employee Housing as required.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment in line with HR practices and WHS.

What you will be required to do:

• Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages; including material lists and construction programs.
• Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high-quality condition assessment services for clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
• Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.

To be successful in the role you will:

• Have previous experience providing quotes and estimates whether as an Estimator in another company or within your own trade work
• Experience using an estimating computer package such as Cost-X
• Have full working rights in Australia
• Have access to reliable transport and ability to get to work and enjoy working mainly within an office (with occasional visits to sites)
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety and its importance in every role.
