Job summary

EGM Build, based in Fairfield, NSW, seeks a dedicated Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and support planning for commercial and residential projects. You will review drawings, assess materials and labour costs, and assist in tender submissions.

Require a relevant qualification in Construction Management, QS, or Civil Engineering and at least 1 year in construction estimating. Strong numeracy, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant qualification in Construction Management, QS, Building and Construction, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction estimating or related role.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates of labour, materials, equipment and other costs.
• Analyse plans to determine quantities and create cost breakdowns.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, budgets, quotations and tender submissions.
• Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and project personnel regarding pricing.
• Monitor project costs and identify variations and cost implications.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing information.
• Assist with tender preparation and procurement activities.
• Review project costs against estimates and report to management.
