AWS Services, a proudly Australian-owned construction company, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join the Mitcham team in Melbourne. You will price remedial projects, prepare tenders and quotations, and liaise with clients from enquiry through award, with opportunities to work across civil, commercial and building projects.

Remedial estimating experience is essential. A strong client focus and ability to manage multiple tenders will help you succeed in this role.

We're looking for an experienced Construction Estimator who can hit the ground running, build strong client relationships and help us convert opportunities into work.

We deliver remedial, civil, commercial, protective coating, refurbishment and building works across Melbourne and nationally, working with government, councils, shopping centres, hotels, commercial clients and private clients.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our Mitcham team.

While AWS works across a range of construction sectors, remedial experience is essential for this role. Our core workload is remedial construction, and we need someone who already understands the types of projects we deliver and can contribute from day one.

You'll be responsible for pricing remedial projects, preparing tenders and quotations, attending site inspections and working directly with clients from initial enquiry through to award.

You’ll also have the opportunity to price and become involved in our civil, commercial and building projects. Experience in these areas is welcomed, but remedial estimating experience is what we're looking for first.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, take-offs and costings from plans, specifications and site inspections
• Price remedial works including concrete repair, waterproofing, protective coatings, façade works, structural repairs, crack injection, refurbishment and associated works
• Prepare and submit government, council and private-sector tenders
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Attend site inspections and client meetings
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Follow enquiries through from initial opportunity to tender and award
• Present pricing and scope clearly and confidently
• Identify risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders
• Assist with variations and additional works
• Complete project handovers with the delivery team

We're not looking for a hard salesperson. We want someone who understands construction, is naturally good with people and can recognise an opportunity to help a client with additional works when appropriate.

About You

Remedial estimating experience is essential.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has demonstrated experience estimating remedial construction projects
• Understands remedial construction methodologies, materials and associated works
• Has experience pricing government and/or council tenders
• Can read and interpret plans, specifications and scopes
• Understands labour, materials, subcontractor pricing and project costs
• Communicates confidently with clients and consultants
• Has strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Can manage multiple tenders, enquiries and deadlines
• Is organised, proactive and able to work independently

Experience across civil, commercial or general building works is highly regarded, as is experience in concrete remediation, waterproofing, protective coatings, façade works, structural repairs or refurbishment.
