Job summary

Naiman Clarke is seeking a candidate for a construction and infrastructure disputes role. You will act on complex disputes, advise on contractual issues and prepare matters for adjudication, mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings.

With direct mentoring from senior lawyers, you will gain early responsibility and ongoing client exposure in a collaborative, less-hierarchical team, ideal for building a long-term construction practice in Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2-5 years’ PQE in construction disputes, commercial litigation or broader dispute resolution.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• A genuine interest in building a practice in construction and infrastructure disputes.
• Commercial litigators keen to specialise in construction are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Act on complex construction and infrastructure disputes arising from major projects.
• Advise on contractual issues, delays, disruption, variations and defects.
• Assist with security of payment claims and other payment disputes.
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, evidence and submissions.
• Prepare matters for adjudication, mediation, arbitration and court proceedings.
• Work closely with senior lawyers, clients, counsel and technical experts.
