Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking an Engineering Officer (Construction) to monitor development-related infrastructure and ensure compliance with standards and legislative requirements. You will work with developers, consultants and contractors to deliver quality transport and stormwater outcomes for our communities.

Based within our Development Services team, you’ll audit construction works, review plans and testing data, and advise on safety, quality and environmental matters.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering compliance and construction auditing.
• Strong knowledge of transport and stormwater infrastructure design and construction practices.
• Experience interpreting engineering plans, specifications, testing results and technical reports.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, standards and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction audit inspections for development works prior to handover to Council.
• Assess compliance with development approvals relating to transport and stormwater infrastructure.
• Review construction testing results, as-constructed documentation, and associated data.
• Evaluate traffic management plans and audit their implementation on site.
• Review consultant reports and technical management plans, including pavement designs and traffic guidance schemes.
• Provide technical advice on safety, quality, environmental and construction matters.
• Undertake site inspections throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Build productive relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
