Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking an Engineering Officer (Construction) to monitor development-related infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with approved standards, specifications and legislative requirements. You'll audit construction works and provide expert technical advice across transport and stormwater projects for our fast-growing region.

Based in the Development Services team, this hybrid role involves site inspections, reviewing plans and reports, and building strong relationships

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in engineering compliance, construction auditing, or civil infrastructure delivery.
• Strong knowledge of transport and stormwater infrastructure design and construction practices.
• Experience interpreting engineering plans, specifications, testing results, and technical reports.
• Sound understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and construction practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to customer-focused service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction audit inspections for development works prior to handover to Council.
• Assess compliance with development approvals relating to transport and stormwater infrastructure.
• Review construction testing results, as-constructed documentation, and associated data.
• Evaluate traffic management plans and audit their implementation on site.
• Review consultant reports and technical management plans, including pavement designs and traffic guidance schemes.
• Provide technical advice on safety, quality, environmental and construction matters.
• Undertake site inspections throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Build productive relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
