Job summary

Laing O’Rourke, Osborne, South Australia, is seeking a Construction Accommodation Strategy Manager to join our AUKUS team. You will lead workforce accommodation planning, camp strategy development, and regional capacity planning to support project workforce requirements.

You will build relationships with providers and stakeholders to secure housing solutions, develop mobilisation strategies, and provide strategic advice to mitigate risks impacting cost, schedule and delivery of the project.

Qualifications

• Mobilisation and accommodation management experience.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure, resources, defence, or construction projects.
• Experience developing workforce accommodation and mobilisation strategies in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Excellent project coordination and planning with ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Develop and implement accommodation strategies that enable mobilisation and project delivery.

• Provide strategic reporting on risks affecting cost, schedule or workforce availability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead workforce accommodation planning, camp strategy development, and regional capacity planning to support project workforce requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with accommodation providers, housing markets, and key regional stakeholders to secure workforce housing solutions.
• Develop and implement accommodation strategies that enable effective workforce mobilisation and project delivery.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure accommodation and camp solutions align with workforce demand forecasts.
• Support workforce attraction and retention outcomes through the delivery of sustainable and fit-for-purpose accommodation strategies.
• Provide strategic advice and reporting on accommodation, camp, and housing-related risks that may impact project cost, schedule, or workforce availability.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in mobilisation, accommodation management, camp operations, or large-scale infrastructure, resources, defence, or construction projects.
• Experience developing and implementing workforce accommodation and mobilisation strategies in complex project environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Strong project coordination and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of reports, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
• Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
