Job summary

The Parliament of New South Wales seeks a full-time Electorate Officer to support Dr Hugh McDermott MP, the Member for Prospect and Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney General. You will assist with constituent matters, community engagement, media and policy work across education, health, transport, multicultural affairs, housing and local government.

The role involves front-facing duties, ministerial representations, and liaison with NSW departments.

Responsibilities

• Address and handle constituent matters.
• Draft official written correspondence to Ministerial Offices, Councils and stakeholders.
• Support and assist local community groups.
• Liaise with community and religious organisations (sports clubs, churches, schools, service providers).
• Draft and organise community updates, flyers and mail communications.
• Draft media releases and update social media platforms.
• Liaise with local newspapers and journalists.
• Answer phone, email and in-person enquiries.
• Assist with planning and organisation of community initiatives.
