Job summary

Quick Release (QR_) in Melbourne is expanding its automotive engineering team and seeks a Connected Vehicle Software Validation Engineer to support validation across infotainment, connectivity, and OTA systems. This role suits graduates through 5+ years with a background in electrical engineering or automotive software testing, involving OTA testing, flashing, diagnostics, and reporting defects using Jira.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or automotive-focused qualification.
• Graduate to 5+ years in automotive software testing/validation.
• Knowledge of OTA testing, flashing, diagnostics and fault investigation.
• Experience with defect tracking, test documentation and validation reporting (Jira).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform software testing and validation of connected vehicle systems (infotainment, connectivity, TCUs).
• Execute OTA software update testing for functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct infotainment and connectivity testing across development programs.
• Perform software flashing, configuration and validation activities using automotive tools.
• Use vehicle interfaces, diagnostic tools and validation equipment to investigate behavior.
• Identify defects, troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Manage defects, test progress and validation activities using Jira.
• Prepare validation reports and communicate findings to engineering stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software quality and milestones.
