Job summary

L3Harris Australia (Integrated Mission Systems Australia) is seeking a Configuration & Data Management (CM/DM) Officer to support management and transmittal of key contracted project information across CM and DM functions. You will assist in documenting data artefacts, change control, and developing plans for delivering Defence-oriented products and services.

The role requires tertiary CM/DM qualifications, 2+ years in CM/DM within Defence or regulatory contexts, and a Negative Vetting 1

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a Configuration/Data Management or related field.
• 2 years minimum experience in CM/DM within Defence or a strong regulatory environment i.e Aerospace or Rail Industries
• Self-motivated and proactive approach to fulfilling role requirements
• Hold and Maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Australian Defence Security Clearance
• Meet the requirements for access to ITAR controlled technology and data

Responsibilities

• Assist in documenting and tracking all data artefacts of hardware and/or software.
• Assist the Project CM needs in performing configuration management, data management or change control.
• Assist, where required, with the development of the plans and processes required for L3Harris MAR AUS to deliver products and services into the Defence industry.
• Support the monitoring of datasets to keep information accurate and clean
• Support the fixing of data errors or inconsistencies
• Support adherence to standards for entering and formatting data, particular focus on security markings and routing.
• Support the Tracking and Reporting on Data Deliverables, in particular Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items.
• Oversee the transmittal process, gaining the correct approvals for transmittal
• Support the data flowing in and out of the project, routing the information to the correct individual or function.

About the role

The Configuration & Data Management (CM/DM) Officer supports the management and transmittal of key contracted project information across 2 key areas:

CM Functions

The Configuration Management function supports creation, control and release of engineering and project data, consisting but not limited to engineering design drawings, parts lists, code, Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) or other items to create and document baselines, these activities can include, but not limited to, the following;

• Assist in documenting and tracking all data artefacts of hardware and/or software.
• Assist the Project CM needs in performing configuration management, data management or change control.
• Assist, where required, with the development of the plans and processes required for L3Harris MAR AUS to deliver products and services into the Defence industry.

DM Functions

The Data Management function oversees the respective project’s data assets. They police and monitor artefacts for data quality, keep information safe and ensure compliance with project plans. They act as a bridge between project functional by, but not limited to, the following:-

• Support the monitoring of datasets to keep information accurate and clean
• Support the fixing of data errors or inconsistencies
• Support adherence to standards for entering and formatting data, particular focus on security markings and routing.
• Support the Tracking and Reporting on Data Deliverables, in particular Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items.
• Oversee the transmittal process, gaining the correct approvals for transmittal
• Support the data flowing in and out of the project, routing the information to the correct individual or function.

Qualifications and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in a Configuration/Data Management or related field

Desirable:

• Awareness of Configuration Management Standards, their application and implementation, i.e EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61
• Knowledge of with Australian Naval CM related publications – i.e. ANP3411-010
• Experience of the use and development of Electronic Configuration Management and Data Management Systems. Use of the Siemens TeamCenter PLM tool preferred.
