Job summary

The Sands Torquay is seeking a Conference and Events Sales Executive to lead planning, organisation and execution of corporate conferences, golf charity days, dinners, shows and weddings.

You will build strong client relationships, prepare proposals, coordinate with Ivvy and RMS, and conduct site inspections to ensure guest satisfaction and revenue growth. This maternity role may become permanent after eight months, with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in event planning and coordination.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and tools (Ivvy and RMS).
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Actively pursue new and maintain existing client relationships to boost revenue.
• Prepare and issue proposals and contracts for events and conferences within 24 hours.
• Coordinate external services and products with accurate quoting and client billing.
• Disseminate event orders through Ivvy and keep internal teams informed.
• Attend weekly meetings to ensure event details and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure safe, compliant operations and professional interactions with clients.
