This 2-year Concreting Traineeship is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career while making a real difference in the Lake Macquarie community. As a Concreting Trainee, you'll gain hands‑on experience in a variety of concreting and construction activities, including footpaths, cycleways, formwork, steel fixing, traffic calming devices, kerb and channel construction (by hand and machine), driveways, drainage pits, pedestrian ramps, median islands and pedestrian refuges.
Through a combination of on-the-job training and formal study, you'll develop the practical skills and industry knowledge needed for a successful career in concreting and civil construction, while learning to safely operate tools, equipment and machinery.

This position is based at Council's Works Depot and involves travel to sites across Lake Macquarie. Hours are 6:00am to 3:30pm, Tuesday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required with notice.
