Job summary

DNEG Animation in Sydney seeks an experienced compositor to join our fast-paced VFX pipeline. You will integrate CG, MGFX, and DMP elements, working closely with VFX and 2D supervisors to deliver high-quality sequences.

The role requires a strong eye for detail, proficiency with Nuke, and the ability to adapt to evolving production needs. You will participate in client reviews, support production methodologies, and develop creative solutions to compositing challenges in both fully CG and hybrid

Qualifications

• Experience as a compositor in the VFX/Animation industry on high-end projects.
• Strong knowledge of the VFX/feature film animation pipeline.
• Proficient with fully CG shots and hybrid cuts.
• Familiarity with projections in Nuke and 2.5D work.

Key Purpose of the Job:

DNEG Animation is a leader in stylized and realistic effects, focused on a variety of animation projects.

At DNEG Animation, compositors work closely with VFX and 2D supervisors and leads to compose multiple CG, MGFX, and DMP elements that complement the visual effects of a cut. The work is dedicated to the integration of complex CG, which means that compositors must be comfortable working with full CG and hybrid cuts. Our compositors are part of daily client reviews and sessions and follow production methodologies to develop creative solutions to problems while performing all aspects of VFX design and composition.

Must Haves

• Experience in the VFX/Animation industry as a compositor on high end projects
• Good knowledge of the VFX/feature film animation pipeline
• Good knowledge of handling and working with fully CG shots
• Experience with Nuke
• Good knowledge of projections in Nuke (and any 2.5D work)

Nice to Have

• Interested in feature length animation
• Passionate about creating beautiful images
• Knowledge of and interest in photography and practical lighting
