IREN is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to lead enterprise-wide compliance programs, focusing on regulatory obligations and sanctions. The role requires driving incident management, control design and governance across Australia, the US, Canada and Europe.

You will collaborate with multiple functions, manage escalations, and leverage modern tooling and AI to scale compliance across a NASDAQ-listed, international data centre business.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience across risk and compliance roles.
• Proven experience managing compliance incidents and escalations.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks across Australia, US, Canada or Europe.
• Experience in large, complex environments such as data centres or technology.
• Ability to work with multiple business functions and understand privacy and data compliance obligations.

The Opportunity

This role sits within the Risk & Compliance function and reports to the Director of Risk. As a NASDAQ-listed business operating across Australia, the US, Canada and Europe, IREN’s regulatory obligations have grown rapidly in number, complexity and consequence. This role is responsible for managing and continuously improving the enterprise-wide compliance frameworks needed to keep pace with that growth, ensuring our compliance obligations are identified, owned, tracked and met across the group. The focus of the role is day-to-day compliance program management, with particular experience in regulatory compliance, incident management and sanctions. You will partner closely with the business to ensure IREN meets its broader regulatory obligations across four jurisdictions. This is a hands‑on role that will be required to operate at times that are outside of normal work hours due to the international nature of the organisation. We expect the work to be performed leveraging modern tooling and AI.

About You

• 6+ years’ experience across risk and compliance roles, with practical experience owning compliance program delivery
• Proven experience managing compliance incidents, escalations and root cause analysis in complex environments.
• Deep working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, ideally across at least two of: Australia, the US, Canada and Europe.
• Experience within large, complex environments such as data centres, banking, infrastructure, energy, or technology.
• Experience working closely with multiple business functions, with an understanding of employment, privacy and data compliance obligations.
• Genuine fluency with technology and AI as tools for solving compliance problems at scale, with concrete examples of replacing manual work with better-designed solutions.
• A commercially pragmatic mindset, with the ability to balance risk and business outcomes.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, mobilise action and deliver outcomes in complex environments.

• Partner with business leaders to strengthen risk and compliance practices across IREN's data centers and corporate functions, providing independent oversight, challenge and advice — including on major growth and expansion initiatives.
• Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of IREN's global compliance programs, with particular focus on regulatory obligations and sanctions.
• Monitor regulatory change across IREN's operating jurisdictions (Australia, Spain, the US and Canada) and translate new requirements into clear, practical obligations for the business.
• Act as the escalation point for high-risk or enterprise-level compliance issues — coordinating timely assessment, response and resolution, overseeing root cause analysis of breaches, and driving remediation and preventative actions.
• Support risk assessments, control reviews and incident management, and lead and contribute to assurance reviews and thematic assessments across key risk areas.
• Maintain compliance registers, obligation mappings and supporting documentation in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Analyse risk and compliance data and prepare clear, meaningful reporting for senior leadership, the Audit and Risk Committee and other governance forums, supporting the governance structures that underpin the compliance framework at multi-jurisdictional scale.
• Support the delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation.
