Job summary

Inclusive Support Service in Kallangur, QLD seeks a Complex Care Youth Worker to support young people with complex care, medical and behavioural needs. You’ll build relationships and help participants engage in daily life and community.

Ideal candidates have experience with disabilities, care plans, and trauma-informed approaches, with a Cert 4 or higher and current First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and working rights.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with disabilities.
• Comfortable following care plans and risk assessments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families, professionals and the ISS team.
• Patient, calm and emotionally regulated.

Inclusive Support Service is looking for dedicated Youth Workers / Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality support to young people living with complex care, medical and behavioural needs.

About the Role

As a Complex Care Youth Worker, you may support young people with:

• Complex medical and health needs: Enteral Feeding.
• Disability and developmental needs
• Behaviours of concern
• Emotional and behavioural regulation
• Personal care and daily living activities
• Community access and social participation
• Appointments, activities and outings
• Therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
• Individual support plans and behaviour support strategies
• Building independence, confidence and life skills

Every young person is different, so you’ll need to be someone who can adapt your approach, think on your feet and put the individual at the centre of your support.

Essential Requirements

• Cert 4 in a relevant field or higher / Working towards.
• Current First Aid & CPR.
• Blue Card
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Australian working rights
• Current driver's licence
• Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
