Job summary

Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd in Mackay, Queensland is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join the clinical team across casual and permanent roles. You will coordinate and deliver clinical care, supervise care staff, and help maintain a safe, caring environment for residents in two facilities.

Opportunities exist for casual, part-time, and full-time positions. The role requires AHPRA registration, experience in residential aged care, strong communication, and a commitment to resident-centered

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in residential aged care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to resident-centred care and adherence to care plans.
• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
• Current Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Supervise and support care staff in delivering high-quality care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and clinical guidelines.
• Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
