Job summary

Collarcare is seeking passionate Personal Care Workers to support residents in Aged Care Facilities across the Hunter & Newcastle NSW. The role requires empathy, reliability, and a commitment to high standards of care.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, documenting residents' conditions, and collaborating with nurses and families to ensure a holistic, person-centered approach to care.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) required.
• COVID vaccination (including booster) required.
• Minimum 3 months experience in an Australian aged care facility.
• Current Police Check and NDIS Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Valid work rights.
• Current CPR and First Aid.
• NDIS Worker Screening or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living, personal care and emotional support.
• Document residents' condition and assist with medication administration.
• Assist with meals and monitor nutrition.
• Maintain infection control and prevention practices.
• Support the registered nurse to deliver holistic care.
• Assist with admissions and ease transitions for residents and families.
• Coordinate with residents, families, doctors and allied health.
• Act according to aged care standards on every shift.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting residents with all aspects of daily living including personal care, grooming and supporting emotional needs.
• Documenting resident’s condition and assisting with the administration of medications.
• Assisting with meal consumption and monitoring nutrition.
• Infection control and prevention.
• Assisting the registered nurse to ensure a holistic model of care is followed at all times.
• Assisting in admission and easing the transition for residents and their families.
• Liaison with all stakeholders including residents, family, doctors and allied health.
• Acting in accordance with aged care standards on every shift.
