Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant - Pathology Collector/Phlebotomist at Concord Hospital. The role involves venepuncture, specimen collection, data entry and delivery to sites for pathology investigations, supporting inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.

The position requires a Certificate III in Pathology Collections or equivalent experience and a commitment to shift work, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections or equivalent experience.
• Customer service skills and the ability to communicate with patients and clinicians.
• Ability to learn clinical environment tasks including specimen collection and handling.
• Willingness to participate in shift work, including weekends and travel within the area.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and specimen collection for pathology investigations.
• Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service in inpatient, outpatient and home care.
• Enter data accurately and ensure timely delivery of specimens to sites.
• Work across rotating shifts as part of a 7-day roster.
