You will engage with consumers and visitors to promote safety, support, and recovery-oriented care, using de-escalation and trauma-informed communication in collaboration with clinical staff.

This role emphasizes proactive engagement, observation, and supportive activities to create a calm, respectful environment for distressed individuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team.
• Experience in healthcare security or customer service is advantageous.
• Proven ability to respond with empathy and respect in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage with patients and visitors to promote a safe, positive healthcare experience.
• Use trauma-informed communication and de-escalation to prevent or reduce behaviours of concern.
• Monitor patient behaviour and clinical areas, identify concerns early and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support recovery-focused care and individual patient needs.
• Provide practical support including activities and way-finding, reporting incidents when required.
