Job summary

UnitingSA in Eyre Peninsula is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide personalised care and support to older people in their own homes. You will help with daily tasks, safety, and connection to the local community, enabling clients to live independently with dignity.

Your role involves personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, medication support, social activities, and transport. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team are

Qualifications

Certificate III in Individual Support or Community Services required.
First Aid Certificate and SA Driver’s Licence required.
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
NDIS Worker Screening Check (DHS) required.
Experience with older people in home care preferred.
Strong communication skills focused on dignity and choice.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised care and support to older individuals in their homes.
Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, meal preparation and medication support.
Encourage client activity and transport to community activities.
Observe and report changes in health or well-being to the coordinator.
Promote independence and meaningful connections with clients and families.
