Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment Group on the Central Coast is seeking a Funeral Director Assistant for casual shifts in Tuggerah. You will help with care, preparation, and coordination of funerals, ensuring dignity, respect, and compassionate service for grieving families.

Typical hours are 7:30am to 3:48pm with shifts 1–5 days per week, casual, and the possibility of transition to full-time. The role includes driving transfer vehicles, preparing vehicles, and supporting families throughout services.

Qualifications

• Empathy and professionalism required.
• Ability to work in emotionally demanding environment.
• Casual shifts with ad hoc scheduling.
• Willingness to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and respectfully organise order of service materials, ensuring accuracy and care.
• Drive company vehicles (transfer vans and sedans) safely and professionally.
• Prepare and clean company vehicles daily to a high standard.
• Support families by transferring their loved ones from hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences into care.
• Provide compassionate support during funeral services and assist with the order of service.
• Support and guide families and guests with care and respect.
• Assist with setting up rooms for viewings and services.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25kg.
