Job summary

Applied Abilities is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to help NDIS participants live independently at home and in the community. You will provide person-centred supports, assist with everyday tasks and accompany clients to appointments and activities, fostering skills and confidence.

Ideal candidates bring patience, reliability and strong communication. Training is provided, and shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers as required in the Queensland

Qualifications

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Reliable, comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
• National Police Check.
• Current medication competency or willingness to complete training.
• Smartphone for rosters, communication and documentation.
• Course such as Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Disability) is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred supports in homes and the community.
• Assist with personal care, daily living, meals and household tasks.
• Support community access, appointments and social activities.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation.
• Follow individual support plans and positive behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with participants, families and the wider support team.
