Job summary

Cara is seeking compassionate, confident and resilient Support Workers to join our Adelaide team across the western, north-eastern and southern suburbs. We have multiple casual and part-time opportunities with morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including at least one overnight shift per week.

You’ll support people with disability to build independence, attend appointments, enjoy activities, and manage daily routines including personal care and medication.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with disability and/or complex support needs is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting people with high behavioural needs is advantageous.
• Availability for morning, afternoon and evening shifts
• Availability for a minimum of one overnight shift per week and alternate weekends
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent experience is desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Build confidence, independence and everyday living skills.
• Get out into the community, attend appointments and participate in activities they enjoy.
• Support daily routines including meal preparation, personal care, hygiene and medication management.
• Provide in-home and day activity support.
• Build genuine, respectful relationships and help people achieve their personal goals.
• Support people with complex needs, including behaviours of concern, with patience and a person-centred approach.
• Respond calmly and appropriately when situations become challenging.
• Keep accurate records and work within Cara’s policies and procedures.
• Work as part of a team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
