Qualifications

• Must be person-centered, warm, patient, and genuinely caring.
• Interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health nuances.
• Great communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
• Reliable and professional with good notetaking and teamwork.
• Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing shifts.

• Optional but nice: Manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability-support training.

Responsibilities

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), understand goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices as outlined in the plan.
• Medical supports: Monitor changes, follow med/clinical plans, liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being.
