Job summary

Amana Living in Western Australia is seeking a casual Bus Driver to transport clients and carers safely and compassionately. The role requires attention to safety, comfort, and compliance with policies while supporting social outings for clients.

The ideal candidate demonstrates experience with vulnerable populations, has a Senior First Aid and CPR, and holds a valid MR heavy vehicle license with Passenger Transport Authorisation. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable people, including understanding dementia and behaviours.
• Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain these.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills enabling email and internet use.
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven organisational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive Amana Living clients and staff safely and carefully.
• Maintain safety and comfort of clients at all times.
• Ensure seat belts and mobility aids are properly positioned.
• Keep the bus clean and tidy daily.
• Perform daily pre-start and weekly vehicle checks.
• Notify Fleet Management of service needs and concerns.
• Plan efficient travel routes and anticipate traffic/building constraints.
• Communicate openly with staff and colleagues.
• Engage with team to promote social outings.
• Follow OH&S policies and participate in training sessions.
• Seek continuous improvement in own work practices.
