Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT in Goonellabah is seeking a Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents in our aged care facility. This permanent part-time role covers morning, afternoon and night shifts, with casual arrangements also considered.

You will support independence and function, and assist with daily living activities and medications. Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Ageing, with flexibility, empathy and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification
• Medication competency (Desirable not mandatory)
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care (Highly Desirable, not mandatory)
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.
