Job summary

Sharp and Carter seeks a Company Accountant for its Brisbane-based finance team. This broad role blends financial accounting, management reporting, FP&A and business partnering, delivering insights to senior stakeholders and influencing strategic planning.

The successful candidate will become a trusted adviser to leadership, with day-to-day financial management and longer-term planning across a diverse group structure.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualifications (or close to completion).
• Strong management reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Commercial mindset with ability to provide meaningful insights beyond the numbers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Variance analysis and performance reporting.
• Financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Business partnering with operational and corporate stakeholders.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end ownership.
• Prepare statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
• Monitor KPIs and provide commercial insight to stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, systems and processes.
• Assist with investment analysis and strategic projects.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support consolidated reporting across the group.

About You:

• CA or CPA qualifications (or close to completion)
• Experience in a Company Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar position
• Strong management reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability
• Advanced Excel skills
• A commercial mindset with the ability to provide meaningful insights beyond the numbers
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
• A proactive and hands-on approach
• Previous experience working within a multi-entity environment or complex group structure (highly regarded)

Highly Regarded:

• Experience working within a privately owned or SME environment and a hands on approach
• Experience supporting multiple entities, trusts, investment vehicles or property structures
