Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking caring individuals to support older Australians in their homes across the lower North Shore. You will help with daily tasks, transport, meals and social support, while fostering independence and dignity.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for high-quality care, strong communication, and a reliable team spirit, with a valid Australian driver’s license. Not-for-profit benefits and learning opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australians in the community.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
• Reliable team player with understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Australian driver's licence and access to a registered vehicle are essential.
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with day-to-day in-home tasks: cleaning, tidying, washing as per care plan.
• Transport clients to appointments and for shopping.
• Meal preparation and basic domestic tasks.
• Provide social support or respite for family and carers.
• Personal care assistance including showering and dressing (if trained).

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling around lower North shore in a varied and rewarding role - no two days will be the same!!

Day to day role looks like:

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
