Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a Community Wellbeing Support Worker to deliver SEWB services and promote service linkages within the Northern Territory. The role includes bicultural pairing with other SEWB workers, healthcare advocacy, and supporting clients to attend SEWB appointments with follow-ups.

Qualifications

  • Is Aboriginal and identifies as Aboriginal, and is accepted by the Aboriginal community.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; willing to discuss and demonstrate knowledge with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate interest in Aboriginal health and primary health care and assisting others in the community.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality in a health care setting; show cultural sensitivity.
  • Computer literacy with ability to enter information into a health database.

Responsibilities

  • The Community Wellbeing Support Worker supports delivery of SEWB services, promoting service linkages, bicultural pairing with SEWB workers, healthcare advocacy, and supporting clients to attend SEWB appointments and follow-ups.
  • This role does not include individual client case management.
