Job summary

Apunipima Cape York Health Council in Cairns invites applications for a part-time Support Worker role within the Breakthrough for Families Program. You will provide practical support, education, engagement, outreach and referral pathways to local services for individuals and families affected by substance use.

You will work under the BFF Counsellor, contributing to therapeutic and family interventions, while meeting mandatory checks, blue card and driver licence requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
• Current Queensland Driver's Licence
• National Police Check within the last 3 months or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
• Enrolled in or willing to undertake study for a Certificate III in Community Services, Addiction Management, Community Development or qualification relevant to the position

Responsibilities

• Provide practical support, education, engagement, outreach and referral pathways to local services for individuals and families affected by substance use.
• Assist in facilitating access to Breakthrough for Families Program activities and support the BFF Counsellor with therapeutic and complex family interventions.
