Legacy Club Services is seeking a committed Community Services Worker - Family & Youth to join our team in Sydney on a full‑time basis. You will deliver social work support, case management and advocacy for families of veterans, working with Legatees and external providers to improve wellbeing and safety.
The role requires home visits, outreach across greater Sydney, trauma-informed practice and weekend/evening involvement for events and camps.

We are seeking a compassionate and capable Community Services Worker - Family & Youth to join Legacy Club Services in a full-time position. Reporting to the Family & Youth Team Leader, you will provide social work and community support services to families of contemporary veterans, Legatees and other stakeholders, including Legacy youth, partners, widows and guardians.
You will deliver person-centred case management, referral and advocacy services, working collaboratively with specially trained Legatees and external providers to strengthen the wellbeing, safety and independence of children, young people and families. The role also supports newly bereaved partners of veterans and their children, as well as families where a veteran has given their health and is unable to provide adequate support during illness.
This role would suit a community services professional who is experienced in case management, confident conducting home visits and outreach across greater Sydney, and committed to strengths-based, trauma-informed practice. Some attendance at events, camps and activities on weekends, evenings and during school holidays will be required.
A minimum Diploma qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a relevant welfare field; alternatively, relevant experience and a willingness to obtain the qualification.
Strong case management skills and the ability to work using strengths-based, person-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries and complete accurate documentation.
Experience using online case management or CRM systems.
Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
Ability to travel throughout the greater Sydney metropolitan area using your own private motor vehicle.
Ability to attend events, camps and activities on weekends, evenings and during school holidays.
Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
Experience in the community or not-for-profit sector, including an understanding of NGOs and charitable organisations.
Experience working with volunteers, member-based organisations and confidential records or information.
Experience building effective relationships and referral networks with external service providers.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Outcomes Star and Microsoft 365 applications.
Previous experience applying a trauma-informed framework.
Current First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
