Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Public Relations and Media Officer to bring Council's projects to life through compelling content, strategic communications, and positive community engagement. You will work with the Public Relations and Media Advisor and Team Leader to enhance Council's reputation and keep residents informed.

Responsibilities include creating engaging content for media releases, speeches and social media; supporting media monitoring; coordinating stakeholder engagement;

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism or related discipline.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.

• Create engaging content for media releases, speeches, social media, digital communications and campaigns.
• Assist with media monitoring and identify opportunities to promote Council initiatives.
• Support public relations activities to strengthen community awareness and trust.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communication projects.
• Collaborate with Council teams to develop clear, audience-focused messaging.
• Contribute to delivery of communication campaigns and organisational priorities.
• Support day-to-day operations within a busy communications environment.
