Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Communications Officer to manage complex or sensitive issues with sound judgment. You will report to the Coordinator Communications and Engagement and work across the organisation to strengthen the Council's reputation with the community, stakeholders and media.

You will deliver Council's media, public relations and communications activities, bringing projects and events to life through compelling storytelling and proactive media engagement.

What you need

• You're a confident communicator with a flair for storytelling, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• You enjoy building relationships, working collaboratively and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Media, Communications or a related discipline, with at least three years' relevant experience.
