Job summary

MercyCare is seeking a warm, community-minded candidate to develop and facilitate playgroups for children aged 0–4, support parenting programs, and provide creche services as needed. You’ll work with schools and families to shape programs that boost school readiness and community connection.

The role emphasizes collaboration, initiative, and adaptability, with opportunities to engage diverse communities while using Microsoft Office and online systems.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care is essential.
• Experience developing, coordinating or delivering community programs and playgroups.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and EYLF.
• Ability to build relationships with families, schools and networks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; confident with Office and online systems.
• Flexible and innovative; able to work collaboratively or independently.
• Current Driver’s Licence and WWCC.
• DoE Clearance within past 3 years and National Police Clearance within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate age-appropriate playgroups for 0–4-year-olds.
• Support parenting programs and information sessions.
• Provide creche services when required.
