Job summary

Wathaurong Aboriginal Co operates a Community Justice Pathways program, seeking a dedicated worker for the Initial Assessment and Planning role within Safe Homes and Healing. The role delivers culturally safe case management for clients at risk of homelessness, including bail and housing planning.

You will coordinate housing pathways, assist with IAPs and access to the Victorian Housing Register, and work as part of a multi‑agency team to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in community services and social housing.
• Understanding of Aboriginal culture and commitment to the Aboriginal community.
• Experience in justice navigation and housing pathways with intake/case management skills.
• Excellent organisation and time management; ability to work in a multi-agency team.
• Willingness to align with the organisation’s vision and child safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive case management across remand, bail application and bail compliance stages.
• Lead housing-focused components including IAPs, Victorian Housing Register applications and housing brokerage.
• Identify needs, risks, housing barriers, bail requirements, and referral pathways using a culturally safe approach.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to support clients in homeless and at-risk populations.
